We also provide personalised, evidence-based therapy for mental health conditions and symptom management of:

  • Generalised anxiety is characterised by excessive and uncontrollable worry about everyday life events and activities. Individuals with generalised anxiety often anticipate disaster and may worry excessively about health, money, family, work, or other issues. Cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) including relaxation techniques can help to reduce anxiety symptoms and improve coping strategies.

  • Health anxiety is characterised by excessive worry or preoccupation with having or developing a serious illness despite reassurance from medical professionals. Individuals with health anxiety often misinterpret bodily sensations or minor symptoms as signs of a severe medical condition. Cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) and mindfulness-based approaches can help individuals manage and reduce health-related anxiety.

  • Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) is characterised by persistent, unwanted or intrusive thoughts (obsessions) and repetitive behaviours or rituals (compulsions). People with OCD may feel compelled to perform these rituals to alleviate anxiety or distress caused by their obsessions. Some people may experience intrusive thoughts without compulsions. OCD, intrusive thoughts and compulsions can significantly impact daily life and relationships, but effective treatments such as cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) can help manage symptoms and improve quality of life.

  • Panic attacks are sudden and intense episodes of fear or discomfort that peak within minutes. They can involve symptoms such as rapid heartbeat, sweating, trembling, shortness of breath, and feelings of impending doom or loss of control. Panic disorder is characterised by recurrent and unexpected panic attacks, accompanied by persistent worry about future attacks and changes in behaviour to avoid situations that may trigger them. Treatment typically includes cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) and relaxation techniques to manage symptoms and improve overall quality of life.

  • Depression is characterised by persistent feelings of sadness, hopelessness, and a lack of interest or pleasure in daily activities. It can affect one's ability to function at work or in social settings and may lead to physical symptoms such as fatigue, changes in appetite or sleep patterns, and difficulty concentrating. Cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) and other therapies can help to manage unhelpful thinking patterns and identify behaviours that improve mood.

  • Sleep problems refer to any difficulties related to the duration, quality, or timing of sleep. Insomnia is a sleep disorder characterised by difficulty falling asleep, staying asleep, or waking up too early and not being able to go back to sleep. It can lead to daytime fatigue, irritability, and difficulty concentrating. Therapy may include improving sleep hygiene, cognitive behavioural therapy for insomnia and relaxation strategies.

  • ADHD in adults involves challenges like inattention, impulsivity, and poor organisation, often affecting work, personal life and relationships. Treatment typically includes cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) to improve focus and time management, problem-solving skills to manage tasks more effectively, and mindfulness techniques to increase self-awareness and reduce impulsivity.

Living with a health condition

Chronic pain encompasses conditions like irritable bowel syndrome, fibromyalgia, migraines, endometriosis, back and neck pain, and many others. It may have a detrimental effect on your emotional and psychological state, resulting in anxiety, depression, anger, grief, isolation, sleep problems or hopelessness. These symptoms further diminish quality of life and play a pivotal role in keeping your “alarm system” activated and the pain-fear cycle continuing.

We are trained in mind-body approaches to healing chronic pain, emphasising the understanding and management of psychological factors that influence pain and its impact. Our techniques are aimed at rewiring the nervous system to restore a sense of safety, reducing pain signals and supporting your journey toward health and harmony.

Burnout recovery

Burnout is a state of emotional, mental, and physical exhaustion caused by prolonged stress, overwork, or feeling overwhelmed by responsibilities. Common symptoms can include mood changes, anxiety, chronic fatigue, feelings of cynicism or detachment from work or personal life, reduced productivity, irritability, changes in sleep patterns, and somatic concerns, like headaches, muscle tension and increased susceptibility to illness.

We provide tailored strategies to help rebuild your emotional, mental, and physical wellbeing, promoting self-compassion and balance. By fostering a deeper connection with your own needs and limits, we aim to guide you towards a more sustainable, fulfilling, and healthy path in both your personal and professional life.

Adjustment to life transitions

Life's path is rarely predictable, and navigating its challenges can be incredibly tough. People often struggle with change, loss, disappointment and uncertainty in profound ways. Change can disrupt routines and stability, triggering feelings of anxiety or fear of the unknown. Loss, whether of a loved one, a relationship, a job, or a dream, can lead to grief and profound sadness.

Whilst these challenges may strain your sense of identity and purpose, they also present opportunities for growth and self-discovery. Through gaining skills and insights, we strive to support you in embracing life's challenges, fostering clarity, authenticity, and a sense of hope.

Women’s health

Historically, research has predominantly focused on male subjects, leading to limited understanding of female health problems and how conditions manifest differently in women. As a result, many conditions, including pre-menstrual dysphoric disorder, premenstrual stress, and premenstrual exacerbations of other disorders are often overlooked or misunderstood.

Our approach to women's health issues emphasises a holistic understanding of the unique physiological and psychological factors influencing women's wellbeing. We believe in empowering women to understand the messages their bodies communicate and to address the specific needs and challenges women face with compassion and authenticity.
